Naps
I'm afraid to even put this in writing, but I need some advice. Caroline is starting to show a lot of nap resistance. Some days she just doesn't seem tired, and will play in her room for an hour or so. Other days, if we are running a little late and miss her "sleepy window" she catches a second wind and just can't settle down. So far she is still sleeping, eventually, every single day. Now I don't want any advice about how kids this age just stop taking naps and to do quiet time. I'M NOT READY for the end of the nap. I'd just like lots of great stories about how your kids started resisting the nap around this age but it was just a phase and they continued to take naps until they were 10. Thanks. :)

Just keep up the routine Samantha and you are doing the right thing by keeping her in her room for quiet time at least. Nick did go through a phase like this and still continues to nap. Most days are good, but when we miss the nap time window it is hopeless. I am dreading kindergarten because I know nap time will be over...
Sorry, can't really help you. Mazie stopped napping when Jamie was born (at 2 1/2 years). Jamie is still napping and not showing any signs of stopping. Jacob naps when Jamie naps. My advise would be to not force the nap so she feels she is kind of in control of it. She can make the decision to do it and feel "grown up" instead of feeling she has to take a nap. Good luck!
Rest assured, Katelyn continued to take naps, against her will, throughout all of preschool. Sometimes, we even give her nap when she gets home from kindergarten( only like once a week). She has informed us that when she is 6...there will never be another nap! So, you could still have 3 more years of wonderful napping bliss.
Yeah. You don't want to hear from me. But I wish you luck!
ha! just keep doing what you're doing and keep in mind how important the nap time is for YOU, put it FIRST in that time period. if you keep it up that way then quiet time should evolve naturally even when sleep doesn't happen. i personally will not give up the quiet time until i have to, meaning when we have to be someplace else during that time! ha! alla naps somedays, like 1-2 times a week. and it's kind of great cause she decides on her own, ok i'm tired, i'll sleep. or not. it's going to be fine, you'll see.
