Caroline's Answers

This little activity has been all over facebook and blogs lately. The idea is to ask your kid a series of questions about yourself and to record her answers. I thought it would be fun to see what Caroline thinks of me at 3 1/2. . . Caroline's answers are in italics.

1. What is something mom always says to you?
I love you.

2. What makes mom happy?
When I snuggle you.

3. What makes mom sad?
When I do something bad.

4. How does your mom make you laugh?
When you say (she makes a funny noise and "tickle fingers").

5. What was your mom like as a child?
Dress up dresses. Is that the right answer?

6. How old is your mom?
I don't know. 10?

7. How tall is your mom?
Can I measure you? (She measures me with the measuring tape) Four!

8. What is her favorite thing to do?
Kiss me.

9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
Go on walks.

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Ballerina. (Seriously? Me?)

11. What is your mom really good at?
Doing ballet moves. (And I worry about projecting on her!)

12. What is your mom not very good at?
I don't know. (Good answer!)

13. What does your mom do for a job?
To clean up the kitchen.

14. What is your mom's favorite food?
Chicken nuggets do you think? (Um no, those are filthy. I don't think you've ever seen me eat them.)

15. What makes you proud of your mom?
I don't know.

16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Cinderella.

17. What do you and your mom like to do together?
Go on walks.

18. How are you and your mom alike?
When we have the same clothes.

19. How are you and your mom different?
When we don't have the same clothes.

20. How do you know your mom loves you?
We kiss.

21. What does your mom like best about your dad?
You kiss him.

22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?
To stores.

Thanks for the great answers, my sweet girl. :)

Hurricane Caroline

I'm sad to say that I think naps have come to an end for Caroline. Before last week, I could have counted on one hand the days she didn't take a nap; last week, she didn't nap once. I think she realized that she doesn't have to lie down and go to sleep so she just. . . doesn't. Even though she's tired, she just plays and plays and plays. Our afternoons now consist of a bitter cycle of meltdown/hyperactivity/meltdown. It's awesome. And although she is pretty content to play in her room for a couple of hours, this is what we find when we go to let her out:

Wow. That's just about all I can say. Wow.

Flashback Friday

EDITED NOTE: I got in trouble for my dirty scans. I think I may have jeopardized my relationship with my fav photographer. Check out the new, more gorgeous pictures.

Was it really only a year ago that I looked like this? It feels so far away. At the time, I felt huge, ugly, and uncomfortable but I asked Erin to take these pictures because I knew that someday I would want to see what I looked like very pregnant. And I am so, so glad I have them. Thanks, friend, for putting up with such a grouchy subject.

Guess she had other plans for nap time.

This Can't Be Good

After 2 months of crawling by the stairs and not even noticing they were there, today William made a big discovery. A big discovery that will make my life a lot more difficult, I predict.
In the last 24 hours since I bragged to a friend about how William is so easy and causes no trouble he has:
1. Thrown a big temper tantrum at the mall (my sweet, just-happy-t0-be-with-you boy!)
2. Woken up at 4:15. For the day. Good times.
3. Munched on cat food and played in Caroline's potty.
When will I learn to keep my mouth closed?

3 1/2 Weeks And Counting. . .

. . . until this one's 1st Birthday. Sniff.

I just got a giant guilt trip from Erin about updating my blog (whatever, Ms. I'm a professional photographer and I STILL haven't posted pictures of my son's baptism. . . 4 months ago!!!) and the lack of William pictures recently. So here you go - my 11 month old big boy. Notice all the teeth in his mouth - they are popping through like crazy and look so painful. Not that he's complained, sweet boy. Also notice his very first ouchie; he banged his forehead while using his push toy yesterday.

As I was taking these pictures, I had a great idea to capture a series with William doing all the things he loves best. So watch for that later this week. :)

PS - I think I've done a great job keeping the old blog updated. Right? Feel free to leave comments putting the bff in her place. She gets a little full of herself every now and then.
