This morning Caroline started singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" within minutes of waking up. We don't talk a lot about Santa at home, so I assume she learned the song at school. As we walked down the stairs, here is our conversation:
Caroline - How naughty do you have to be to get no presents from Santa?
Me - Pretty naughty.
Caroline - There are children in the world who are more naughty than me, right Mommy?
Me - Ummmmm......
No! Just kidding! I reassured her that she will probably get presents, that all children are naughty sometimes, and that she is usually very well behaved. I think I missed an ideal chance to use her fears to my advantage, though. :)
