All I Want For Christmas. . .

. . . is a healthy niece or nephew. My older sister Melisa is visiting this week. Her second child is scheduled to join his or her big brother Quentin just two days before Christmas. I had fun taking some maternity pictures of her outside today - isn't she beautiful?

When Erin was here taking my maternity pictures in March, I was pretty sure I was the worst portrait subject ever - I'm very uncomfortable having my picture taken, especially when I'm feeling large and pregnant, and I complained endlessly about having them done (what a nice way to thank a great friend for doing me a favor, right?). Well my sister can have that title. She kept making terrible faces and complaining until I got her to think about Quenny dancing - then I got some pretty great shots.

I love my big sister. I am certain that Caroline will have a great relationship with William someday, but I am sort of heartbroken that she doesn't have a sister. Cause I love having mine so much.

FYI, in case you are curious, Caroline is convinced that Melisa's baby is a girl, and she wants to name it Bea or Zucchini. Or possibly Bea Zucchini (get it?). I can't wait to hold you in my arms, sweet baby. I love you already.

I know I have only seen Melissa once or twice, but I never realized how much she looks like your mom. Has the resemblance always been there? And yes, she is beautiful!

Those are lovely photos. I htink every pregnant woman is that way about pictures. It's kind of hard to feel pretty when you feel so large.

Beautiful! You did a great job. And I'm voting for Bea Zucchini too...sounds like a great name to me.

Thanks for sharing your blog with us Samantha! I totally know how you feel about wanting a sister for your daughter because you love having your own sister so much- I'm expecting a baby brother for Caitlin around Halloween!

You only know about having a sister... I only know about having a younger brother. He, to this day, is (next to my hubby of course!) my best friend. We are two peas in a pod. I think Caroline and William will have a wonderful relationship in the future. No worries!!! Really... I love having a brother - I go to him for advice... even now!

love that dress!
BTW, 23 Dec is a GREAT due date - esp. when the baby comes on the 17th instead ;)
ps they could call her Bea-Z when she puts out her first album.
