When we lived in Colorado, two of my very dear friends had boys, and I always thought they must secretly be a bit disappointed not to have a girl. I just didn't think the relationship between a mother and a son could be as special as the relationship between a mother and a daughter. I didn't get it. But now, thanks to this guy, I do.

I fell instantly, hopelessly in love with William the minute he was born. I love him extra because he is a boy. I probably could have lived the rest of my life without trains and t-ball, but I couldn't live without this boy, this son. Isn't it amazing how God knows exactly what we need?
P.S. - I was so excited to find this onesie from the Gap, because I tell William he's "my main man" about a million times a day. :)

Yeah! You have a blog now! Your kids are so cute!!
Amen to that! Sons rock :-)
And that is a pretty darn adorable little outfit you have him in. Good find, mom!
I was totally with you about the girl thing. I loved having the girls and being girly. However, I absolutely love my little man and could not imagine live without him.
Congrats on jumping on the blog-wagon! I'm not a regular commenter, but will definitely check back often.
About the Son Shine... Don't worry Steve, I grumble a little myself about Jacob... but William is just borrowing her for awhile. You were with Samantha first and will still be with her when William is off to school! :-)
Like I'm ever going to let William go to school, Jeremiah! Thanks for commenting!
aw! so true so true! i even thought, since we didn't know what we were having, that it'd just be better to have another girl since we already know GIRL and have all the 'stuff.' ha! i am so lucky to have a boy. so happy with my own little main man:)
