Caroline's 5th Birthday Party

We celebrated Caroline's 5th Birthday a few days early this afternoon. I feel it is important to mention that I still have 4 more days before she's 5. :)

As the girls arrived, they were treated to face painting:

Next, they decorated treasure boxes:

The highlight of the party - they went "mining" for gems!

Caroline was thrilled with her jewels:

As each guest "mined," she found her birthstone, which was then set into a silver necklace. You would have thought the necklaces were from Cartier; the girls were so proud and barely wanted to move once they had them on, lest they do damage. :)

Next up, dance party!

I've pretty much given up on homemade cakes and bought the tackiest Disney-fied cake I could find. My girl could not have been more pleased. :) It's not my birthday, It's not my birthday.

Happy Birthday, my sweet Caroline. I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating with your girls. We love you so much!

Happy (early) birthday, Caroline. I remember when I first met you in the hospital. It was a bright sunny day in the mountains. And, I remember marveling that your perfect little head was nearly as small as an orange. How you've grown, sweet girl. We love you so much.

Wasn't I at your house in Colorado meeting your newborn baby girl like 5 minutes ago?

What a fun party!
